Japan and taiwan-based Noiz Architecture, design and planning were recently commissioned to design a cultural salon for Taiwan Land Corporation to enhance the corporate identity of the company. The design theme of the project was transformation.
Along with designing the new interior the firm developed furniture for the salon, which followed with this notion of transforming. Their morphing table and chairs are derived from iconic pieces of modern designed furniture. The forms morph from one typology of a chair or table into another in one continuous form.
How often are people going to repeat this concept?
The source chairs are all beautiful. The technology of laser cut ply is full of potential. The idea is utterly lame. The result, a waste of wood.
The sculptural quality is superb. That's a great idea to use the different iconic shapes and to make snakes out of them.
The process brings out the natural beauty of plywood. Whether simple or not, this is really awesome. People just get pissed because some great things are simple and made fast and they can only make greatness in the span of years
